Vandals attack mosque in Sarawak
KUCHING: A mosque in Kota Samarahan was vandalised this morning following a spate of arson and other forms of vandalism against churches.
Deputy police chief Ismail Omar was quoted as saying that police found broken glass near the outside wall of the mosque, and warned troublemakers against whipping up emotions.
“Don’t make any speculation,” he said. “We are investigating this incident.
“The situation remains peaceful and no one should take advantage of this to create something bad.”
Ismail could not confirm whether the bottles thrown at the mosque were of alcoholic beverages, but said he believed the act was vandalism.
