Ahmad finally gives statement to police

GEORGE TOWN: Former senator Datuk Ahmad Ismail finally turned up to give his statement to the police on Wednesday night over the alleged seditious remarks made on the eve of the Permatang Pauh by-election.

Ahmad, who is also the Bukit Bendera Umno chief, turned up at the police contingent headquarters in Penang Road at about 10pm where he met the investigating officer before giving his statement.

State deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Salleh Mat Rasid said the police can now wrap up their investigations and send the file to the Attorney-General in Putrajaya by the end of the week for further action.
